The Bergamot connection! (Bergamot is where Fig and The Crosswind Cafe live, btw). Marimo City, where Leo lives now, is a somewhat-obvious analogue for Monaco, playground of the rich and famous here on this Earth.

Also, manager-dad! I'm kind of fascinated by the dynamic of parents as managers/coaches, and how things get weird when your kid is also your job. Even with the best of intentions (often not the case) it seems impossible to tread the line well.
